Key Awards

Zeta Theta is proud to have received the Chapter Key Award for four consecutive biennium’s (2007-2009, 2009-2011, 2011-2013, and 2013-2015). The Chapter Key Award, established in 1991, honors STTI chapters who excel in chapter-related activities such as:

  • Membership recruitment and retention
  • Publicity and programming
  • Professional and leadership development
  • Local, national and international collaboration

The process for application includes the gathering of information from members regarding their: research and scholarship, educational programs, community service, and a variety of leadership activities. Specifically, Zeta Theta was active in International presentations and mission work, the inaugural year of our intern program, multiple education programs for continuing education credit and our outstanding members who are active in a variety of nursing specialties.

Criteria

Chapter Key Awards

Eligibility:

In order to apply for the 2017 Chapter Key Award, which recognizes chapter activity for the timeframe between 1 July 2015 and 30 June 2017, chapters must have met all chapter responsibilities as outlined in STTI bylaws.

According to Article IV, Section 8 of the International Bylaws, a chapter’s responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the purposes of the STTI
  • Observing the provisions of the bylaws and complying with STTI’s policies and regulations
  • Participating in the biennial convention House of Delegates and other business brought forth before the House of Delegates during the term
    (This includes the electronic voting by delegates throughout the year. Note: In addition to the in-person vote at the November 2013 House of Delegates, electronic votes will occur in September 2013, February/March and October/November 2014 as well as February/March 2015.)   
  • Selecting and inducting eligible members a minimum of one time annually
  • Meeting all financial obligations
    (This includes cashing chapter checks as they are issued to the chapter by headquarters.)
  • File required reports according to established guidelines
    (This includes the on-time submission of the 2013 and 2014 Chapter Annual Reports – Deadline is early August of each year.)

Chapters must contact STTI headquarters to seek their eligibility status before online submission. Ineligible chapter entries within the online system will not be accepted or judged.

 


Keys

Each chapter will receive a replica of the honor society key symbolizing nursing excellence, to attach to their Chapter Key Award banner. First and Sixth time recipients will also receive a banner. Each banner holds 5 keys.
