Alice Manion Research Grant Award

Purpose

The purpose of the Alice Manion research grant award is to provide financial support for active (paid) Zeta Theta members conducting research. The Alice Manion research grant award may be for individual or group research projects with collaborative practice and interdisciplinary research strongly encouraged. The grant award is intended to support original research projects that will result in publication and/or dissemination of findings at professional venues (STTI Chapter Key Award criterion). The funds are not to be used for travel, capital improvements, or salaries for investigators or project managers. Award recipients are expected to present their results at the Zeta Theta Research Conference one year post award and must provide detailed written accounting and receipts for how the funds were spent.

Maximum Research Grant Award

The Alice Manion research grant awards up to $1500 based on committee decision. Funding requests are reviewed twice a year or until a maximum of $5000 for the calendar year has been awarded. Collaborative projects are encouraged, and more than one Zeta Theta member may apply for funding for the same project.

Scholarship Awards

Purpose

The purpose of the scholarship award is to recognize active (paid) Zeta Theta members in graduate study who demonstrate the potential to make a significant contribution to the nursing profession and health care. The scholarship award is intended to assist with the cost of graduate education, the educational enrichment of the graduate nurse student and/or professional advancement of the graduate nurse student. All recipients must provide a detailed written expense statement including receipts of how the funds were spent and a personal statement of how the grant benefited them.

The maximum award is $1000 however funding could be less based upon committee decision…

Leadership Award

Purpose
The purpose of the Leadership Award is to promote a wide variety of opportunities for current
(paid) Zeta Theta Tau members in active practice who are not students at any academic
institution. This may include but is not limited to: new learning or skill opportunities, the
dissemination of research or scholarly activity at professional venues, as well as opportunities to
share nursing knowledge regarding leadership, scholarship, management skills and
professional expertise. All recipients must provide a detailed written expense statement
including receipts and a personal statement of how the funds benefited them.
Eligible Individuals
• Current Zeta Theta Tau members with an active professional nurse license in active
practice (excludes student nurse inductees, retirees, those who are not employed in a
health-related role applicable to the nursing profession)
• The leadership opportunity must be applicable to a STTI Chapter Key Award category.
• This grant excludes Zeta Theta members enrolled in any degree program. (Those
individuals need to apply for scholarship grants.)
• This grant excludes Zeta Theta members who want to provide leadership services to the
community. (Those individuals need to apply for community service grants)
• This grant excludes dissemination of posters or podium presentations less than 15
minutes. (i.e. 5 minute lightening round presentations are excluded)
• This grant excludes any STTI member one who is not a paid member of Zeta Theta Tau.
